What is the status of my new car order? When can I collect my new car order?
While we’re beginning to resume production, Land Rover is still not operating at full capacity, in line with safe working regulations for our employees. We seek your patience and understanding during this time.
Existing customer orders are our top priority in rescheduling production globally, but some delays would be unavoidable. If your order falls under this category, we will get in touch with you as soon as we have any information or updates.
If you placed a new car order during or after retailer re-opening, the following options will be available:
You may select your vehicle from immediate in-market stock, which will be delivered once all handover preparations are made (in line with the safe distancing restrictions) or;
You may place a brand-new bespoke order for your vehicle, however, this will be subject to production delays. Retailers will be provided with full details as we work to meet your needs as quickly as possible.
How can I test drive a vehicle?
Land Rover is committed to ensuring that you are completely satisfied with your preferred choice of model. Subject to the relaxation in restrictions, the retailer will arrange test drives for all customers in line with new safe distancing regulations.
Demonstrator vehicles will be cleaned before and after each test drive.
Customers will be offered an extended unaccompanied test drive once safe distancing restrictions permit.

What is Land Rover doing about servicing, repairs, warranty and service packs impacted by COVID-19?
Land Rover is committed to supporting customers affected by the closure of our retailers during the COVID-19 restrictions.

If you require vehicle service during the delays caused by COVID-19, please rest assured that your warranty will be unaffected by this disruption. All cars serviced within 3 months or 2,000 miles (whichever is earlier) of the service indicator will be protected in full by any applicable warranty.
If your warranty expires during the COVID-19 restrictions (from 19th September 2021 onwards), we will extend your warranty coverage, including Roadside Assistance cover, until 31st October 2021 or until date end of COVID-19 Lockdown Restriction announcement by National Task Force Authority. End of warranty checks due during this period will also be fulfilled. If you are in quarantine or self-isolation beyond 31st October 2021, please contact us to make arrangements for the collection and/or delivery of your car.
Land Rover will honour any service due under a service plan that has expired during the COVID-19 closures.
How and when will my new vehicle handover take place?
Land Rover is committed to ensuring that customer handovers are managed in line with all safe and social distancing conditions in place.
A handover can take place at the retailer and be handled in the same manner a demonstration test drive can be conducted.
If you require a bespoke handover service at another location outside of the retailer’s location, please contact us and we shall arrange a time and a date.
For a second handover, due to the complexity and detailed information, the retailer needs to be present during the handover, so we recommend a follow-up call and will happily arrange for a Product Specialist to answer any of your queries.
How long will my battery last during a period of non-use?
Car batteries, like any battery, discharge when used. Your car will take power from the battery even when locked and parked, as it uses the battery to power essentials such as the car alarm.
If a battery discharges fully as a result of non-use, a replacement cannot be covered by the vehicle warranty. The warranty covers the battery for manufacturing defects but not for depletion as a result of lack of use.
How long you leave a car without starting will depend on the condition of your car's 12-volt battery. A Land Rover with a healthy battery should last at least two weeks, without needing to be started up to re-charge.
If, as part of your essential-only travel during the COVID-19 outbreak, your engine runs for approximately 20 minutes once a week, the battery in your car is unlikely to go flat.
Excessive 'wake ups' of the vehicle electrical systems should be minimised. Do not lock/unlock or switch on the ignition without driving the car unless necessary. Avoid listening to the radio, using your headlights, heating or air conditioning system without first starting the engine.
If there’s any doubt about the condition of the battery, or the car will not be used for longer than three weeks, connect it to a Land Rover Battery Charger or a suitable trickle charger. The Land Rover Battery Charger is available from the official Land Rover Shop or from your Land Rover Retailer.
Will my tyres be damaged if the vehicle is parked for an extended period?
Check the tyres to make sure they are at the recommended pressures. Proper inflation helps to prevent cracking in the sidewalls and flat spots. Check the valves and valve caps for leaks and that the valve caps fit properly.
If storing the vehicle for longer than three months, increase the tyre pressure to 3.5 bar. Remember to adjust the pressures to the recommended values prior to driving the vehicle once out of storage.
Will my brakes be affected if my car is parked for a long time?
Your brakes will be affected by an extended period of non-use. You may see surface rust on the brake disc after even a short period of time. With prolonged periods of non-use, brakes and handbrakes can become corroded and require replacement.
Using your car at intervals, sufficient to charge the battery for example, should keep your brakes corrosion-free. Remember to drive with caution if your brakes show signs of light surface corrosion as stopping distances may temporarily be extended.
If you have any concerns about corrosion it is important to seek expert advice.
What fuel level should I have when parking my car for long periods of time?
Ideally think about storing your Land Rover with a full tank of fuel to avoid any condensation build-up.
How long will my PHEV battery last if the car is not in use?
A Hybrid High Voltage battery will last for weeks when not being driven, as a Li-Ion battery has a low self-discharge rate. The car can be left connected to a home charger 'wall box' as charging will stop once the battery is fully charged.
A Landr Rover's Battery State of Charge can be seen and monitored in the vehicle.
How often should I clean my car?
The general advice is to wash your car every one to two weeks where possible. Benefits may include removing any external influences that may cause damage to the paintwork (e.g. bird lime), clearer visibility which contributes to safer driving, and of course, keeping your Land Rover looking its best!
Cleaning products such as Smartsan V is recommended. Alternative products like Anti-microbial Disinfectants or non-staining broad spectrum products passing BS EN1276:1997 & BS EN 1650:1998 disinfection standards, may also be used.

CLEANING YOUR VEHICLE
Before you begin, wash your hands with antibacterial soap for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitiser that contains at least 60% alcohol.
Put on nitrile gloves and dispose of any waste that may be inside the vehicle. Prepare to focus your efforts on hard, non-porous surfaces; these run the highest risk of contamination.
Clean your vehicle with disinfectant wipes or sprays, particularly the high-risk surfaces, which include:
Steering Wheel, Dashboard, Gear Selector, Fuel Cap, Seatbelts, Interior Controls, Mirrors, Touchscreens, Door Handles and Key Fob.
Repeat your hand washing or alcohol-based hand sanitising technique after cleaning. Be sure to repeat all steps before and after each drive for optimal results.
If you are taking over the vehicle from someone who is self-isolating, or who has a confirmed case of COVID-19, professional medical advice should be sought, and deeper cleaning may be required.
